On behalf of the Mexican government, the Foreign Ministry conveys its deepest condolences for the deaths of nine foreigners who tragically lost their lives in the earthquake on Tuesday, September 19. They are among the 325 deaths that have been confirmed to date.
The Foreign Ministry extends its sympathy to the families of the victims and commits to offering them all necessary legal and logistical assistance for the repatriation of the bodies.
At present, preliminary figures confirm the death of one individual from Argentina, one from South Korea, one from Spain, one from Panama and five from China (Taiwan).
The Foreign Ministry has contacted their diplomatic representations in Mexico to express our sorrow and hopes that time will heal the grief of the victims’ families.
