On behalf of the Mexican government, the Foreign Ministry condemns the recent launch of three ballistic missiles by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea).
These launches are in flagrant violation of international law and of multiple binding United Nations Security Council resolutions.
The Mexican government reiterates that these tests threaten international peace and security and impede multilateral efforts to bring about a climate of stability and cooperation on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia.
Mexico also reiterates that North Korea is obligated to comply with the resolutions adopted by the UN Security Council since 2006, which require North Korea to suspend ballistic missile launches and any further provocation.
Mexico will remain attentive to the Security Council’s follow-up on this issue.
