The Senate ratified today the appointments of three Mexican representatives to international organizations, eight ambassadors and three consuls general who were nominated by President Enrique Peña Nieto.
The appointments are:
María del Socorro Flores Liera, Permanent Representative of Mexico to the International Organizations based in Geneva; Jorge Lomónaco Tonda, Permanent Representative to the Organization of American States (OAS); and Federico Salas Lotfe, Representative of Mexico to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO
Eduardo Patricio Peña Haller, Ambassador to Australia; Carlos Pujalte Piñero, Ambassador to Denmark; Yanerit Cristina Morgan Sotomayor, Ambassador to Ecuador; and Orlando Arvizu Lara, Ambassador to El Salvador.
Armando Gonzalo Álvarez Reina, Ambassador to Indonesia; José Ignacio Madrazo Bolívar, Ambassador to Lebanon; José Omar Hurtado Contreras, Ambassador to Nicaragua; and José Guillermo Ordorica Robles, Ambassador to Romania.
Juan Manuel Calderón Jaimes, Consul General in San José, California (USA); Héctor Daniel Dávalos Martínez, Consul General in San Juan, Puerto Rico; and Lorena Larios Rodríguez, as Consul General in Shanghai.
After their ratification by the Senate, the 14 diplomats were sworn into their posts. Foreign Secretary Luis Videgaray thanked the legislators for their support for the appointments.
